The Canadian Centre for International Justice (CCIJ) invites you to meet and hear from Legal Director Amanda Ghahremani, who is in Vancouver to assist in the groundbreaking lawsuit against BC-based Nevsun Resources for its alleged involvement in slave labour at its mine in Eritrea. CCIJ is a charitable organization that works with survivors of torture, war crimes, and other atrocities to seek redress and bring perpetrators to justice. Based in Montreal, Amanda is also known in Canadian legal and human rights circles as the lawyer who spearheaded the campaign to free Canadian academic Homa Hoodfar from Iran’s notorious Evin prison. Amanda will be speaking about CCIJ’s work to support people seeking justice for serious human rights violations through education, litigation, and advocacy.
