If you or your family members have suffered certain kinds of human rights abuses, you may be able to pursue justice. Many processes exist around the world and in Canada to address violations of human rights but it can be very difficult to learn what opportunities for justice exist. CCIJ has developed an online tool to help you understand what opportunities might be available to you.*
The Opportunities for Justice tool has two sections:
Assess Your Options: Our assessment tool will take you through a series of questions about the acts committed against you or your family members and suggest possible options for pursuing justice.
Justice Institutions: Learn about different bodies that address human rights abuses by reading short descriptions of international courts, United Nations committees, regional human rights commissions and Canadian processes.
CCIJ thanks the following volunteers for their dedicated work and leadership in the Opportunities for Justice project:
- Developer – Tom Christian
- Editors – Chris Tenove, Theressa Etmanski, Ian Kennedy
- Researchers – Leanna Krause, Cameron Bourne, Dru de Saint-Pierre, Aleksandra Djordjevic, Lisa Nevens, Samina Ullah
